5 tallest towers in world

Burj Khalifa (Dubai):

Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world since 2009 with 828 meters (2,717 ft) height. It consists 162 floors, 9 hotels, and a huge shopping mall. It is also known as the name Burj Dubai, is a mega tall skyscraper in Dubai. Its total cost is USD $ 1.5 billion. 

Construction of Burj Khalifa was started on 6 January 2004 and it completed in December 2009 and in 2010 it opened officially. It took 5 year time to complete. The key structure is reinforced solid.

Burj Khalifa is designed by Adrian Smith, then of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill who are responsible for the design of One World Trade Center. Its shape is very interesting like Y due to residential and hotel usage. It consists record 57 elevators and 8 escalators. This tower has received many awards due to its height and Y shape (Tallest skyscraper to top of the antenna, Building with the world most occupied floors, highest vertical concrete pumping, world’s highest observation deck, world’s highest nightclub).

It cladding system is very strong due to hot temperature of Dubai and tripedal design with edges cut in a projecting shape to avoid air turbulence. 

The Shanghai Tower (China):

The Shanghai tower is second tallest building in the world after Burj Khalifa with 632 meters (2,073 ft) height in Pudong, Shanghai. It consists the world highest observation deck within in structure and also world fastest elevator with speed of 20.5 m/s and also have 162 floors or 128 stories. 

It has 320 five star hotel room and a big parking area of 1100. Shanghai tower total cost is 2.4 billion US dollar. The interesting fact about Shanghai tower is that it accommodated 16,000 people per day. 

It designed by the American architecture firm Gensler and owned by the Shanghai government. It separated in nine separate zones including office, retail, Leisure use, super five-star hotel, and others. Shanghai tower construction was started in November 2008 and completed in August 2013 and exterior was completed in summer 2015. The building was officially opened as publically in 2015.

Along with Shanghai tower, other 2 tower also exists first is Jin Mao Tower and SWFC and this group becomes a first adjacent grouping of three supertall towers. 

Makkah Clock Royal Tower (Saudi Arabia):

Makkah Clock Royal Tower is the third tallest building in the world with 601 meters (1971 ft) height in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is a government owned mega tall complex of seven skyscraper hotels, this building is the part of the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project and group of these towers also called Abraj Al-Bait.

Its name is Makkah Clock Royal Tower because it has the world largest clock face with 141*141 ft dimension and the fourth tallest freestanding structure in the world. It has total 120 floors and luxurious room to the permanent president and big prayer room that is large enough to fit more than 10,000 people or huge 16 vertical light of it shoot up to 10 km and lightsome in the sky.  In addition, these towers parking garbage that capable to hold more than 1000 of vehicle and five-stories shopping mall. 

The Cost of the entire project is estimated around $15 billion. The complex is decorated with 98 million glass mosaic tiles with 24 karat gold leaves.

One World Trade Center (New York, USA):

One World Trade Center is the world fourth tallest tower in the world with 541 meters (1776 ft) height in New York, USA. It is also known as the name Freedom Tower. It is the main building of world trade center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The tall structure has the name of the main world trade center which destroyed by the terrorist in 2001. 

It was designed by David Childs who also designed Burj Khalifa and Wills Tower. Construction of this tower started in 2006 and completed in July 2013. The cost of this project is estimated around $3.9 billion. 

This tower has total 104 stories including the offices, restaurants, broadcast center etc. and the base is 200 square feet which are same as the original twin tower. It has some awesome features like rainwater recycling, better fireproofing, interior daylight, and life-safety systems.  

Taipei 101 (Taipei, Taiwan):

Taipei 101 is the fifth tallest tower in the world with 509 meters (1671 ft) height in Xinyi district, Taipei Taiwan. It is also known as the name Taipei world financial center. The tower was awarded the LEED platinum certification and highest award according to the LEED rating system.

It is the tallest and biggest green building in the world. It has total 101 floors and fastest elevator going from the 5th floor to the 87 floors within 49 to 53 seconds and it also surpassed the 85 story. Taipei tower construction was started in 1999 and completed in 2004. The cost of this project is estimated around $1.934 billion.

It was the world tallest tower from 2004 to 2010. The structure of Taipei tower has a stacked pagoda look with 8 segments and each segment contains 8 floors.
