Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7 July, 1981 at Ranchi, Jharkhand that located in the east corner of India. He studied at DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir. In childhood he likes to play football and badminton. He come from typical Indian family, his father name Pan Singh who worked for MECON and his mother Devki Devi is housewife. In 2010, Dhoni married beautiful Sakshi, his childhood sweetheart. She was his classmate.

Interesting Records of  Dhoni on Cricket Field:

1. He is one of fittest player on the field. I never remember that in any match Dhoni has left the field. There has one occasion when he has left the wicketkeeper's gloves and fielded but never does he leave the field.

2. Dhoni has record of made highest number of run while playing at number 6 and 7 position in ODIs and also scored some of big hundred.

3. He is the only captain in world cricket who made hundred at number 7. He achieved this record against Pakistan while Indian team struggling at 29/5 but he handled the inning and made unbeaten 113 run.

4. He held the record of most sixes as captain in international cricket by hitting more than 204 sixes. That is the highest by any captain in international cricket.

5. Dhoni held the record of most sixes as Indian batsman by passing the record of Sachin Tendulkar of 195 sixes in recent, against New Zealand.

6. Dhoni known in international cricket to his out of the box thinking captaincy and quickness behind the stumps as wicket keeper. He holds the record of most stumping in international cricket by 148 stumping in 439 matches.

7. Everyone knows he is great batsman in any situation. He held the record of highest run by any batsman as wicket keeper against Sir Lanka by 183 run not out. In that inning he hit 15 fours and 10 sixes.

8. Dhoni has some interesting stats in T20 matches. He scored highest run without made any fifty in international cricket. He scored 1069 run in T20 as captain of India in 70 matches. And his highest score of 48 not out.

9. Dhoni has record of most won in T20 as captain. He played 70 T20 international as captain and won 41 matches that is the highest for any captain in world cricket.

10. Dhoni is the only man in international cricket who won ODI cricketer of the year twice.

11. Dhoni widely known as one of the best finisher in world cricket, that’s true because he has average 105.14 during the successful chases. He has played 58 innings during chasing and scored total of 2208 run. Also, he remained unbeaten for 38 times which is indeed phenomenal.

12. He is the first non Australian captain who won 100 ODI matches and first Indian who reach to this landmark.
13. He is the only captain who led his side in 50 or more matches in all three format of the game.

14. In recent he complete 9,000 run against New Zealand and the fifth Indian who achieve this landmark. In 2014 he became the fourth fastest batsman who complete 8000 run.

15. As captain he held the record of longest unbeaten run in test his debut 11 test until the test against South Africa in 2010.

16. In 2007 Afro-Asia cup he and Mahela Jayawardene made a world record sixth wicket partnership of 218 runs. In that he made unbeaten 139 run in just 97 balls.

17. He holds the record of fastest stumping in the world in just 0.09 second.

18. He is only wicket keeper in world cricket who also taken a wicket as bowler.

19. Dhoni highest in test cricket is 224 run and that is the highest by any an Indian wicketkeeper and 3rd highest by any wicketkeeper.

20. Dhoni is the most successful Indian captain in all format of the game. And only captain who won all three ICC trophy ICC world cup, ICC champion trophy, ICC T20 world cup.

Helicopter Shot:

MS Dhoni gained lot of popularity from his helicopter shot that is new style of hitting the ball in an uppercut fashion. That taught to him by his friend, who was former Jharkhand cricketer Santosh Lal, who is no more in this world.

First Class:

MS Dhoni is not a school drop out. He actually passed his 12th Board Exams with fairly nice 66 percent.

Who forget he is best athlete in the world. In 2012, SportsPro rated Dhoni as the sixteenth most marketable athlete in the world. He is rated as highest paid athlete in the world.

Mahi is big fan of Adam Gilchrist and Cristiano Ronaldo. He and Ronaldo have same jersey number.
