5 Best Ever Cricket Inning Under Pressure

Kapil Dev 175 against Zimbabwe

1983 World Cup is considered as the turnaround moment for Indian cricket where the pushovers became a side with grit and determination to win.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni 91 against Sir Lanka

Dhoni's paggressive unbeaten 91 in the World Cup topping showdown against Sri Lanka match the greatest innings played by a captain in a final of world cup history.

Dhoni came on middle of the crease in 21 over when Kohli departs after stunning catch of Dilshan. That was the critical situation of match because India needed 163 run in just 132 balls.

After that Dhoni started batting in aggressive style and he reach half century with good strike rate. He slept two cover drives against world best spinner Muralitharan in one over.
Dhoni was still on crease after wickets of Gambhir and put India as much as near to the wining target.

When India was required 4 run in 11 balls then Dhoni hit a big six and finish the match. India won the world cup after 23 year and first team who won world cup at home.

Dhoni made unbeaten 91 run in just 79 balls and he was also man of the match.

Grant Elliot 84 against South Africa

New Zealand 299 for 6 in 42.5 over (Elliott 84*, McCullum 59, Anderson 58, Morkel 3-59) beat South Africa 281 for 5 in 43 overs (Du Plessis 82, De Villiers 65*, Miller 49) by 4 wickets (D/L method).

Grant Elliott played the best inning of his life to carry his adopted country into the World Cup final against the South Africa. With five needed off two balls, but effectively four because a tie would have been enough for New Zealand due to them finishing higher in their group.

 Elliott pulled injured Steyn high over mid-on to ensure New Zealand's adventure would stretch all the way to Melbourne.

Herschelle Gibbs 175 against Australia

Gibbs came on crease when South Africa lose first wicket in early season of the game. The Gibbs and Smith put up 188 run partnership with run rate of 8.97 that must required to South Africa to won the match. Smith out after smashed 90 runs in just 55 balls.

But Gibbs did not stop he hit four and sixes at consistent rate. And maintain run rate more than 7. Gibbs made century in just 79 balls with four at extra cover.

On one side wickets is fall down but Gibbs scored in good strike rate. He reached 150 run in just 100 balls. In his innings Gibbs smashed 7 sixes with 21 fours.

In that historic match where South Africa chase 438 run on other side Gibbs smashed 175 run in just 111 balls that was unforgettable innings of his career.

He is the first batsman in international cricket who hit 6 sixes in over.

David Miller 118 against Australia

David Miller third ODI century helped South Africa pull off the second-highest chase of all time and seal the series against Australia.

In 31st over Miller on 26 run and his team required more than 8 run per over. He was in huge pressure but he handle it.

Duminy and Miller saw off three boundaries less overs and the match seemed to be drifting to the hand of South Africa but then Miller changed his tone. He took 15 runs off Zampa, including a six and two fours to hint that South Africa were still in the hunt.

He survived a review at crucial time in the 34th over, on 40, when Matthew Wade was convinced Miller had edged John Hastings behind but in third umpire did not agree.

On 71 off 54 balls, Miller was the man in charge and ushered Phehlukwayo through strike rotation while scoring boundaries seemingly at will. He reached his hundred off just 69 balls when he whacked a short of a length delivery behind square on the leg side.

Miller scored 118 run in that inning he hit 10 fours and 1 six under pressure situation and help to South Africa to chase second highest score in one day international.
