Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadur Sastri Birthday Special.


2 October is very special day for every Indian because 
today is birthday of two big man of India one is Yug Purus of India Mahatma Gandhi and second is Lal Bahadur Shastri. Gandhi and Shastri were help to get independence against British Army.

Full name of Mahatma Gandhi is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. He is widely known as name of Bapu in India and also called Gandhiji. He is unofficially called the father of the nation. Gandhi famously led Indian against slat tax with the 400 km Dandi salt march march in 1930 and after in 1942 called British to Quit India.
Gandhi widely known for his nature attempted to practise nonviolence and truth in all situations. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl. His Birthday 2 October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti a national holiday and world-wide as the international day of nonviolence. In his famous book Hindi Swaraj he declared British rule was established in India with co-operation of Indian and had survived only with this co-operation.  If we refused to co-operate, British rule would collapse and Swaraj would come.

Today is also birthday of Lal Bahadur Shastri. He was the prime minister of the India and party member of congress. He deeply impressed by Gandhiji and joined Indian independence movement in the 1920’s. He become loyal follower first of Gandhi and then Jawaharlal Nehru. His slogan “jai jawan jai kishan” become very popular during the war and remembered even today. Shastri participated in the slat Satyagraha in 1930. After that he worked as the Organizing Secretary of the Parliamentary Board of U.P. in 1937.

Political Career:

After India got independence in 1947 he was active member of Political from 1947 to 1964. He become the state minister of Uttar Pradesh. In 1951 he was made as General Secretary of the All-India Congress Committee with Jawaharlal Nehru as the Prime Minister. He was selected to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh in 1952 and also served as the minister of railways and Transport in the central cabinet.
In 1964 Shastri become the prime minister if India after death of Nehru. In his first broadcast as Prime minister on 11 June 1964 Shastri stated:
“There comes a time in the life of every nation when it stands at the cross-roads of history and must choose which way to go. But for us there need be no difficulty or hesitation, no looking to right or left. Our way is straight and clear—the building up of a secular mixed-economy democracy at home with freedom and prosperity for crony capitalists, and the maintenance of world peace and friendship with select nations."

Shastri great movement is came when he led India against Pakistan in Indo Pak war in 1965. On September 1965 when India won indo Pak war, India received letter from China alleging that Indian army set up army equipment in Chinese territory and India would face China’s warth, unless the equipment was pulled down.
