Germany and India ban facebook to collect Whatsapp data

Indian and German Government decide to ban facebook to collecting WhatsApp data.

Before two year ago Facebook bought Whatsapp in $19 billion, with some promise and agreement 

that the new owner would not interface with whatsapp data, that would remain safe. But before some days news came in market that whatsapp is start sharing data with facebook.

And now news came in market that German and Indian government ban facebook to collect data with whatsapp.

News in New York Times:

“The city of Hamburg’s data protection commissioner ordered Facebook on Tuesday to stop collecting and storing data on WhatsApp users in Germany, the first time a privacy watchdog has waded into the debate. The regulator, which has authority over Facebook’s activities across Germany, also called on the social network to delete all information already forwarded from WhatsApp on roughly 35 million German user.”

According to the watch dog, since whatsapp and facebook are independent companies they should process their user data based on privacy policies or terms and condition.

According to facebook the personal amount of user data has not yet been collected.

The Delhi high court invented on whatsapp plan after two Indian students approach it in last month. The Student express privacy concern about change in whatsapp’s terms and privacy policy. That is not good for all whatsapp user because million of user have some personal contacts and images, if that share on facebook that not good for that user. So Indian government ordered whatsapp to delete data of user who choose to opt out of whatsapp policy change before 25^th September and also asked not share data collected before 25 with facebook even not with user who did not opting out of whatsapp new policy’s, which comes into effect on 25^th September.

The popular instant messaging and voice calling service assured that you nothing share on whatsapp, all will be shared on to facebook. A whatsapp council appeared in front of Delhi High court earlier this month and explained that whatsapp wasn’t going to share user personal data with facebook.

Whatsapp could challenge the decision of Delhi court in Supreme court. India is one of the largest markets of Whatsapp market with over 100 million monthly active users.

However, Whatsapp user need not to worry about our contacts details, images and chat because they are end-to-end encrypted which means even the company cannot read them.
